OSDP

Introduction

Chiyu has released a solution that offers a product with a primary feature of "card anti-cloning/anti-counterfeit mechanism" technology. The cloning of badges is considered a weak point in the majority of the access control market. It is essential for Chiyu to provide alternative options beyond the HID technology ecosystem, which are cost-effective and competitive.

WHY DESFire and OSDP?

DESFire EV1 and EV2.

The MIFARE® DESFire® has evolved into an industry-leading technology that provides superior performance, state-of-the-art security, privacy, and improved support for multiple applications. These advancements enable the creation of new business models.

Common Criteria certification:

EV1: EAL4+ for IC hardware and software

EV2: EAL5+ for IC hardware and software

OSDP V2

More Security:

OSDP v2 with Secure Channel protects readers against hacking using AES-128 encryption.

More Functionality:

OSDP uses 2 wires, allows for multi-drop installation, supervises connections to indicate reader malfunctions, is scalable to connect more field devices, and more.

More Interoperability:

Using OSDP enables communication among different manufacturers' devices.

More Consistency:

Not only does OSDP provide a concise set of commonly used commands and responses, but it also eliminates guesswork since encryption and authentication are predefined.

What is reading sector and its benefits?

In today's modern world, our wallets often contain multiple MIFARE cards, such as Personal ID cards, credit cards, Octopus in Hong Kong, EzLink in Singapore, Suica in Japan, and EasyCard in Taiwan. As a result, individuals may have cards for different applications. With the reading sector, also known as the MIFARE Application Directory (MAD), a terminal can quickly identify multiple cards and select the correct one by checking the MAD.

The reading sector feature enables you to assign a reader to only read specific MAD MIFARE cards. This provides an added layer of protection for your projects.
